Providing more quantitative data for every PET scanner and every PET scan

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Currently in development, the ArterialPET is a compact, non-invasive Positron Emission Tomograph (PET) scanner that circles the wrist or ankle. It determines the arterial input function essential for quantitative PET imaging, allowing all PET to provide additional information on the state of a disease or effectiveness of therapy. It is a non-invasive alternative to the arterial catheter and a substantial improvement on the mere estimates that Standard Uptake Value (SUV) provides.

ArterialPET: In Focus

When used in assessing treatments like chemotherapy or theranostic treatments, ArterialPET provides information on the bioavailability of the radiopharmaceutical at the time of the PET scan. ArterialPET’s reading is relatively instantaneous, and combined with physiological modeling, allows the quantitative assessment of disease or neurological function. The current dominant clinical model for measuring radiopharmaceutical uptake is the SUV which does not provide quantitative information. ArterialPET is a non-invasive detector that works in tandem with any conventional PET imaging device.

The results for the input function should compare favorably to the SUV model and could eliminate the need for an arterial catheter in PET studies.
